El-Yes: Don’t Sweat the Sweater Dress

I love when I see fashion anomalies.

Sometimes outfits are so bad that they are good. The stars align and these odd fashion choices just work perfectly. Harem pants and a cape? Amazingly, an El-Yes!

I saw Miss El-Yes on the bus. A tall and slim blonde with a pixie cut, she got on the bus wearing sunglasses and looking rather aloof. She was wearing a long knit camel colored sweater dress. The little gold flecks in the dress glistened in the sunlight and meshed with the blonde in her hair and the gold of her leather bag.

Wasn’t she warm with all of that wool? Upon closer inspection (she was standing right next to me), I noticed that the fabric was rather thin.

How could anyone voluntarily wear a tan woven across her bum? If I did that it would be a disaster. No strength of Spanx would be able to make that look good. But this tall and thin woman was able to pull it off. She really looked quite stunning.

How do the rest of us embrace the sweater dress? Shorten the hemline and add in an A-line silhouette!
